I’m Rach - the person behind Rank With Rach. I build websites for small businesses who need something clear, useful and easy to manage.

I’ve been building websites for 15 years and have built at least 50 of my own over that time. So while I’m newer to building them for other people, I’m very much not new to building websites.

Real life

I’m a lone parent to teenage boys, so I do not have a lot of patience for pointless faff. I like straight answers, practical solutions and things that work properly.

That definitely spills over into how I work. I’ll tell you what matters, what doesn’t, and what is worth sorting first without dressing it up in loads of jargon.

Slightly more about me

Outside work, I love being outdoors, walking and camping. I also have a genuine talent for getting lost, which is not ideal but does at least keep life interesting.

Last summer I walked up Helvellyn, which I was very pleased about. I drank tea, climbed a mountain and made it back down again, which felt like a strong overall result.

The slightly ridiculous bit

Before this, I ran a hen party business, and before that I had a cake pop business and got asked to go on Dragons’ Den. I said no, and don't regret it.

I used to do triathlon, but had to stop because I kept falling off my bike. So if nothing else, my career history suggests I’m willing to try things and reasonably good at finding humour in them afterwards.

Quick facts about me

  • I’m 5 ft 9, which, as I’m reminded surprisingly often, is tall for a woman.

  • I’m very fond of cafés, coffee and cake.

  • I love reading crime fiction.

  • I used to be an outdoor activity instructor and teach orienteering, which is ironic considering how easily I get lost now.

  • I try to find humour in most things.

  • I do not like trifle.

What that means for you

If you work with me, you’re getting someone who genuinely likes this stuff, notices details other people miss, and will explain things like a normal human being. No corporate waffle, no hard sell, and no pretending everything needs to be more complicated than it is.

I want your website to be something you’re happy to send people to - and something that actually helps your business, rather than quietly making life harder in the background.

And finally...

If your website currently falls somewhere between 'not great' and 'please don’t look at it,' I get it. That’s exactly the kind of thing I help with.
